[Is chiropractic care great for veterans?]
Hi. I’m Dr. Ryan Johnson from Integrated Chiropractic and today we’re going over a Q and A series. So a common question we get is, “Is chiropractic great for veterans?” and I say, “Of course.” So as a chiropractor in Sarasota, I’m VA-approved through the Community Care Network. So what you have to do is get an evaluation with your primary care at the VA hospital. Typically it’s Bay Pines and when they give you approval, they will give you a provisional diagnosis and they will refer you to Community Care. So we have a whole sheet that walks you step by step on how to get approved for the Community Care Network. Once you’re approved, they will send you a referral to our office and typically they will give you about 12 visits for your first round of treatments. After that, you can reapply after the date or after you met your 12 treatment sessions and then they will reextend your treatment to 8 or 12 visits again. Now what’s great with chiropractic is they cover all the adjustments to the spine. They cover the shoulders, elbows, wrists, also hip, knees and ankles and they also cover the therapies. So they cover traction. They cover the EMS, the ultrasound. They cover different massage techniques. So the treatments for the veterans is really great and it’s also going to include your exams and your therapies. So again call your Community Care Network and ask to be referred for chiropractic care. Again they will refer you to your primary care at the hospital and once you get your referral, we will be able to take you on our office. If you have any questions, please call us at 941-487-0266.
